It is produced by melting silica sand at high temperature and turning it into fiber. It is used for thermal insulation, sound insulation and acoustic arrangement, fire safety. It can be produced in the form of mattresses, sheets and pipes with different coating materials, in different sizes and technical specifications, depending on the place and purpose of use.

If the materials are produced, stocked and applied in accordance with the standards, their lifetime is generally as long as the life of the building. Insulation materials in places that do not need to be covered (glass wool roof blankets in the roof) should be checked every year depending on the conditions of the application areas, and if there is a decrease, additional thickness should be applied.
